Brunei's unemployment rate remains high


To overcome the problem of unemployment, the Brunei government to implement various development projects in recent years, actively, to spare no effort to attract foreign investment, create more employment opportunities for local people. However, unemployment remains high in Brunei, many of them college students with higher education qualifications. Currently, about 6,000 unemployed people to the Labour Office for registration. But the survey found that many who are not registered unemployed, the people's critical attitude to work is leading to the cause of unemployment. Strong local self-superiority, that should get better treatment, pick and choose, most of the local private sector services tend to work after a period of time to resign. Survey, the private sector employed about 72% of the foreigners, only 28% of local people. It is hoped that the locals are not keen to seek employment in the private sector, the phenomenon of the future will be changed, otherwise the country will not improve the unemployment situation.
