15th ASEAN Economic Ministers Meeting held in Siem Reap, Cambodia
On the afternoon of August 29, the 15th ASEAN Plus Three (10 +3) Economic Ministers Meeting held in Siem Reap, Cambodia, economic and trade ministers from the 10 ASEAN countries, Japan and South Korea to participate in the meeting. Prasidh with the Chinese Minister of Commerce Chen Deming, Yukio Edano, Japan's trade minister, and South Korean Foreign Minister Tsusho representations to the Minister Park Tae-ho, co-chaired meeting was accounted for by the rotating presidency of the ASEAN Economic Ministers Meeting, Cambodian Minister of State and Minister of Business.
Chen Deming said at the meeting, the 10 +3 cooperation mechanism on the past 15 years, played an important role in promoting the unity and cooperation in East Asia to deepen regional economic integration, and expand common development space. In 2011, China and ASEAN, Japan, South Korea's total trade accounted for 26% of China's total foreign trade volume between ASEAN and China, Japan, Korea and China to attract investment accounted for 13.7% of total foreign investment.
Chen Deming said that China attaches great importance to the economic and trade cooperation with the 10 +3 members are willing to actively participate in and promote regional economic cooperation in East Asia on the basis of the principle of "equal consultation, mutual benefit and win-win, step-by-step, open and inclusive" for regional economic development in East Asia contribute to the common prosperity of all countries. The trilateral have launched this year, Japan and South Korea FTA negotiations to reach a consensus, the tripartite working-level consultations should continue to advance, announced the launch of negotiations during the series of meetings of East Asian leaders in November to prepare.
Edano Yukio and Pak-tai-ho spoke at the meeting height evaluation of the 10 +3 cooperation mechanism that the 10 +3 is one of East Asia's most important, the most mature, the effectiveness of the most significant with the cooperation mechanism, will continue to lead the economic development of the region to play a positive role, will be announced during the year as scheduled start-Japan-ROK FTA negotiations, strive to reach a high level of free trade agreements.
At the meeting, the ministers listened to the reporting of the East Asia Business Council, and on the implementation of the ASEAN Plus Three Cooperation Work Plan 2007-2017, the second East Asia Vision Group, the East Asia Free Trade Area, Japan and South Korea Free Trade Area progress, exchanged views on regional and global economic issues.
Day, Chen Deming Park Tae-ho also held bilateral talks focus on an exchange of views on China-ROK FTA, Japan and ROK FTA issues. China-ROK free trade area since its launch in May 2012, the two sides have held three rounds of negotiations. The Ministers expressed satisfaction with the negotiation process, and agreed to further strengthen communication and a high level of commitment to an early conclusion of a win-win situation and balance the interests of the free trade agreement.
